Cautionary notice on abuse efforts in submission of applications to public calls published through the EU4Business Project

As part of the EU4Business project, primarily funded by the European Union, on February 1, 2019, the UNDP published a public call for support to agricultural holdings. The public call was closed on March 27, 2019, after which the process of evaluation of received applications was initiated. The evaluation process is currently in its final stage and it is expected to be completed by May 15, 2019, when the preliminary list of selected applications will be published.

Through the process of evaluation and continuous communication with farmers, UNDP concluded that there were cases of fraud by third party persons who falsely present themselves and used falsified documents to deceive the applicants (farmers) during the preparation of the applications and business plans. The EU4Business Project and UNDP want to emphasize that mentioned activities are illegal and that UNDP will inform the competent police authorities about all known any other cases of abuse and fraud.

In order to prevent future fraud attempts and to protect potential applicants, UNDP would like to draw your attention to the following:

1.         The project team of the EU4Business Project is the only authorized party to provide any information on public calls, the process of evaluation and the selection of applications as well the publication of results. Information from other sources should not be taken as relevant. All official publications and information about the EU4Business Project as well as public calls can be exclusively found on the UNDP website (www.ba.undp.org) or the EU4Business Project website (www.eu4business.ba).

2.         All official publications and information on the EU4Business Project, public calls and grant approvals will be published in two ways:

       i) Publicly on official web sites: www.ba.undp.org and www.eu4business.ba, and/or

       ii) Directly to each applicant.

The EU4Business Project will not inform third parties (consultants, advisers, intermediaries, etc.) about the results of the public calls.

3.         If you use the services of consultants or advisors to prepare and write applications for public calls, before you hire them please check their experience in preparing applications for public calls. In addition, make sure you are familiar with the details and criteria of the public call that are available at the above-mentioned web addresses.

4.         No consultant or adviser can guarantee the approval of grants, and any promise to ensure the approval of grants is based on the lack of knowledge about the application evaluation and the selection of the received applications processes or is direct attempt to deceive the applicant. Be very careful if you come across such situations.
