UNDP and FBiH Government sign Financing Agreement

FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Sezin Sinanoglu

Prime Minister of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Fadil Novalić and UNDP Resident Representative Sezin Sinanoglu signed Financing Agreement for Flood Recovery – Housing Interventions in FBiH Programme on September 7th, 2018.

This agreement envisages active participation of FBiH Government in financing Programme with 1.1 million KM in order to provide support to population affected by record-breaking floods and landslides in 2014. Total value of the Programme, financed by the European Union, FBiH Government, partner municipalities and cities and UNDP, is 13,3 million KM in FBiH.

Through this Programme 1,125 people, whose homes were damaged or destroyed by floods or landslides in 2014 will be provided with safe housing solutions, while 210 most vulnerable families will be strengthened economically through agricultural assistance, establishment of small business as well as employment in the private sector.

Programme is implemented by UNDP in BiH together with Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), Hilfswerk International Austria (HWA), and partner municipalities and cities.

Twenty municipalities and cities in FBiH are participating in the Programme: Cazin, Doboj Istok, Domaljevac-Šamac, Goražde, Gračanica, Kakanj, Kalesija, Maglaj, Odžak, Orašje, Sapna, Srebrenik, Tešanj, Travnik, Tuzla, Vareš, Vogošća, Zavidovići, Zenica and Žepče.
