Public Call to Local Self-Government Units in RS to Submit Proposals for Financial Grants

Within the framework of the project "Local Integrated Development" (LID), funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Investment-Development Bank of Republika Srpska (IRBRS) has published a Public Call for Local Self-Government Units in Republika Srpska (RS) for submitting proposals for grants. The aim of these activities is to support local development priorities, whose implementation is provided in the development strategy, or strategic documents of the local self-government unit. Project proposals may be submitted by local self-government units, public companies or public institutions founded by local self-government units.

A maximum of two (2) project proposals for financial mechanism can be submitted from the area of one local self-government unit, one from each of the priority areas of funding, may be submitted by a qualified applicant (local self-government unit or public enterprise or public institution) from the area of a unit of local self-government. In the case of submitting two applications for grants from the Financial Mechanism from the area of a local self-government unit, funding may only be granted for one and more well-ranged project application. The financial contribution of the Financial Mechanism per individually submitted project may not be less than 50,000 BAM, or more than 100,000 BAM. The applicant is obliged to provide funds for co-financing the realization of project activities, exclusively in cash, in the amount of at least 25% of the total project value. The total duration of the project can not exceed eight (8) months.

The deadline for submitting the project proposal is October 26, 2017. at 15:00 hours.

Additional information regarding the Public Call can be obtained by sending a query to the email: no later than seven (7) days before the deadline for submission of project proposals. All relevant questions and answers will be published on the IRBRS website. In order to provide support in the process of preparing project proposals, further clarification of the Public Call Guidelines and Criteria, "open days" will be organized during which potential applicants will be more fully acquainted with the procedure and application requirements. The exact date and location of the "open days" of the local self-government unit will be promptly informed.

The "Local Integrated Development" project, valued EUR 6.6 million and funded by the European Union, will be implemented over a period of three years from 2016 to 2018, in partnership with the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and crafts of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government of Republika Srpska and two associations of municipalities and cities in FBiH and RS. This project is part of the broader EU support program for local development in BiH, which, in addition to UNDP, is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the International Labor Organization (ILO).
