Jun 29, 2017

Within the Direct call for local self-government units, the Board of Partners of the ReLOaD project in BiH has selected the following ten municipalities and cities for participation in the project: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Jablanica, Maglaj, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Teslić, Tešanj, Travnik, Trebinje and Tuzla.

Out of a total of 48 local self-government units that were invited to apply, 32 municipalities and cities submitted their application that were evaluated through the competitive process on the basis of predefined criteria. One of the key criteria are the results that local government units realize when allocating financial resources to civil society organizations using transparent criteria and project approach, or according to LOD methodology.

The selected 10 municipalities and cities will work on activities that contribute to the project objective, strengthening partnerships between local authorities and civil society by expanding the successful model of transparent financing of civil society organizations projects from the budget of local self-government units. This approach ensures greater civic participation in decision-making processes and improves the provision of services to citizens in local communities.

According to the Board of Partners decision, municipalities and cities that are not selected this time to participate in the ReLOaD project are on the reserve list.

The Regional Programme on the Local Democracy in the Western Balkans - ReLOaD, is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
