Memorandum of understanding enables support to children and juveniles appearing in criminal proceedings in Zenica-Doboj Canton
As part of activities of “Support to Processing of War Crimes Cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina” Project, which works on developing a comprehensive Victim / Witness Support Mechanism across BiH, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 25 February 2015 between Cantonal Court Zenica and Municipal Court Zenica, enabling use of cantonal court’s professional, psycho-social staff for the purpose of treating children and juveniles appearing before the Municipal Court.

Four health centres in flooded areas receive vehicles for transport of dialysis patients, donation of the Government of the Slovak Republic
Four vans for transport of patients to dialysis treatment, whose procurement was funded by the Government of the Slovak Republic were handed over to health centres in Doboj, Maglaj, Domaljevac Samac and Samac at a ceremony held on 24 February 2015 in Sarajevo.

New Projects Worth 6.5 million BAM for Rehabilitation of Landslides and New Houses for Families Who Lost Their Homes During the Floods
UNDP and the FBiH Government signed the Memorandum of Understanding, the Agreement on co-financing for the project of rehabilitation of landslides in the amount of 5 million BAM, and the Agreement on co-financing for the project of construction of houses in the amount of 1.5 million BAM for families who were left homeless during the last year's floods.

EU Floods Recovery Programme invests 1,6 million EUR to furnish and equip schools and kindergartens damaged by floods
The EU Floods Recovery Programme has invested EUR 1,6 million to provide furniture and equipment to a total of 124 kindergartens and primary and secondary schools, which are attended by an estimated 58,500 children and pupils across the flood-affected areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This investment is additional to the Programme's post-flood rehabilitation works in educational institutions to repair the structural damages caused by the floods. The EU's implementing partner in furnishing and equipping schools is UNICEF, which has extensive global experience in creating safe and stimulating learning environments for children.

Second Meeting of the EU Floods Recovery Programme Advisory Panel Discusses Progress of the floods recovery efforts
The Advisory Panel of the EU Floods Recovery Programme held its second meeting today in Sarajevo to discuss the progress of the floods recovery efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, exchange information on the results archived so far and discuss future priorities. Special emphasis was placed on the rehabilitation of housing units, updating damage assessments, strengthening flood protection and sustaining the effective coordination of efforts.

The kindergartens in Domaljevac and Maglaj, both severely damaged in the May 2014 floods, reopened their doors after extensive rehabilitation works to repair the flood damages were completed in both locations in January 2015. The rehabilitation works received substantive financial support from the EU Floods Recovery Programme, in the total amount of approximately 305,000 EUR (600,000 KM).
