The first meeting of the Steering Board of the EU/UNDP Local Integrated Development projectApr 11, 2016The first meeting of the Steering Board of the EU funded project “Local Integrated Development” (LID) took place today in Sarajevo. The Board is composed of seven permanent members who represent Delegation of the European Union, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), BiH Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, FBiH Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, RS Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and two associations of municipalities and cities in the FBiH and RS and it will supervised implementation of the project.
Workshop held on sustainable financing of HIV programs in BiHApr 7, 2016The Workshop on Sustainable HIV Financing in BiH, held from 05th-06th April 2016 in Sarajevo, was organised by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in BiH project Scaling up Universal Access for Most at Risk Populations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (HIV/AIDS Round 9). The goal of the workshop was to summarise what was done during the ten years of the project, but also to find the solutions for further steps after the project is finished in order to maintain positive trend in low HIV/AIDS rate in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Interactive training for future criminal investigators on use of audit reports in fight against corruptionApr 6, 2016The first interactive sessions on "Using the audit findings to detect and prove criminal offenses involving corruption", aimed at improving the knowledge of future investigators on the use of audit findings to detect and prove corruption and offences relating to corrupt activities, took place last week at the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo. This was the first out of five trainings organised within the UNDP project "Strengthening Parliamentarian Capacities and Key Institutions Mandated with Corruption in BiH", funded by the Norwegian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mine Action Board of Donors MeetingMar 31, 2016In cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Commission for Demining and BHMAC, United Nations Development Programme organized the Mine Action Board of Donors Meeting in the United Nations building in Sarajevo on 30 March 2016. The meeting was attended by the representatives of key embassies and organizations involved in mine action, and the main objective was to review past activities and to define the next steps in this area.
Official sigining ceremony between 13 Local Governments and UNDP initiated implementation of the project „Strengthening the role of local communities-MZ in BiH“Mar 30, 2016The ceremony of signing Letters of intent between 13 Local Governments and UNDP was held on March 29th, at the UN house in Sarajevo. The 13 LGs were selected through the first Public call for Applications of the project “Strengthening the Role of Local Communities.” The first project phase will last until mid-2019. The following LGs were selected based on carefully designed criteria: Bijeljina, Brcko District, Gradiska, Kotor Varos, Laktasi, Petrovo, Kljuc, Gracanica, Gradacac, Sanski Most, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Tesanj and Zepce.
Results of the public call for local governments and local communities for expression of interest for participation in the projectMar 29, 2016From a total of 84 local governments eligible to apply for the Public Call, 63 had submitted their applications. On completion of this stage in the process, the Project Board of the project Strengthening the Role of Local Communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina met and confirmed the selection of the following 13 local governments as partners in the first phase of the project: Bijeljina, Brčko District, Gračanica, Gradačac, Gradiška, Ključ, Kotor Varoš, Laktaši, Petrovo, Sanski Most, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Tešanj and Žepče.
