Justice and Security

  • EU STAR Project

The excessive stockpiles of ammunition and associated risk of an uncontrolled explosion, continue to pose a significant hazard to human safety and security in BiH. The EUSTAR Project aims to dispose 3,000 tonnes of unstable ammunition in the local and international demilitarization facilities over the next 24 months.

  • CIAT Project

Aiming to increase safety and security of people and communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as those in the European Union and neighboring countries, UNDP in partnership and with financial support of Government of Germany and Government of France implements the Countering Illicit Arms Trafficking Project

  • Dialogue for the Future II

The DFF project intends to enhance the inclusiveness of local level governance by undertaking joint assessments of common problems and creating local dialogue platforms - bringing together local leaders as well as civil society, youth, religious leaders, women’s organizations and relevant local level authorities

  • Access to Justice: Supporting the Rule of Law and Transitional Justice (project closed)

Access to justice for the poor and marginalised is not guaranteed in BiH, due to a fragmented and poorly developed free legal aid (FLA) system in the country, and the lack of harmonised legislation at the State level. UNDP was working with national partners to establish a country-wide free legal aid system ensuring minimum equal standards for all citizens in accessing free legal aid services.

  • EXPLODE - Explosive Ordnance and Remnants of War Destruction (project closed)

Project EXPLODE was implemented between 2013 and 2017 aiming to support the efforts of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina to destroy unstable and unsafe ammunition and provide training to the MoD personnel in the latest and safest ammunition destruction methods.
