Industry of the indigenous dairy products in Bosnia and Herzegovina

February 21, 2011

Bosnia and Herzegovina has a great potential in agriculture and food processing sector given its numerous favourable conditions such as large areas of agricultural land, suitable climate, and high-quality water. These are further supported by the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has large grazing surfaces, which is a precondition for an intensive livestock breeding as a branch of agriculture.

The handbook titled Indigenous Dairy Industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been developed within the Project Value Chains for Employment of the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the expert assistance from the Federal Institute for Agriculture, and for the purposes of the Export Promotion Agency of BiH (BHEPA) and the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (FTCBiH). The handbook promotes the indigenous dairy products in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the key producers and processors in the industry. The aim of the handbook is to promote the dairy industry and dairy products in Bosnia and Herzegovina during promotional tours, at fairs, but also through the diplomatic-consular network of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world.
