Guidelines for Fruit Juices, Fruit Nectars and Similar Products

21 Feb 2011

The new Rulebook on fruit juices, fruit nectars and related products (Official Gazette of BiH No. 87/08) is now in effect in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The new Rulebook enables the producers from Bosnia and Herzegovina an equal footing with producers from the EU and the neighbouring countries, as well as importers of soft drinks to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Previous regulations did not provide the local producers with an opportunity offered under the new Rulebook. The Rulebook lays down general requirements for manufacturing, market placement, labelling fruit juices, fruit nectars and similar products.

Furthermore, the Guidelines define certain parameters and reference values, and regulate the quality of products of this type. The handbook titled Guidelines for fruit juices, fruit nectars and similar products has been produced thanks to the funding from the Project Value Chains for Employment of the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and prepared by the Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina based on EU regulation. The

Guidelines has been published in three official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
