The aim of this report therefore, is to study the ‘visions of the future’ of the population of BiH and the role of displacement and return in contemporary BiH. One key question is whether policies which support returnees and non-returnees are part of visions of the future, or if in fact, other priorities are more pressing.

According to the World Health Organisation, 8.8 million persons suffer from TB and 1.4 million deceased from TB in 2010. More than 95% of all deaths caused by TB occurred in low- and middle-income countries. Though very slowly, estimated number of TB patients has been decreasing: TB incidence rates showed a descending trend after 2002, as did the absolute number of TB patients after 2006.


The Social Inclusion and Governance Sector assists BiH central, entity and local governments to achieve higher standards of governance effectiveness through better planning, budgeting, provision of public goods to citizens and accountability. By tackling these challenges UNDP influences the policy level, which affects the lives of ordinary citizens and particularly the most vulnerable groups.
