    Since year 2001 the South Easter Europe region embarked on implementing a systematic strategy focused on broad ICT development. It comprises the electronic SEE Agenda+ to promote content and e-Governance, and the broadband SEE Action Plan to enhance the availability and lower the cost of broadband communications, stimulate an active public-private sector dialogue, and provide support to the region’s e-Governance programs. This strategy is bearing fruit and having a positive impact on the region’s ability to compete in the global marketplace.

    Although the large majority of tuberculosis cases worldwide are drug susceptible, multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR TB) presents an emerging threat to global tuberculosis control. Strains of MDR TB are, by definition, those resistant to the two most potent antituberculosis medications, isoniazid and rifampin. The loss of susceptibility to isoniazid and rifampin makes such strains of tuberculosis more difficult to treat.

The Social Inclusion and Governance Sector assists BiH central, entity and local governments to achieve higher standards of governance effectiveness through better planning, budgeting, provision of public goods to citizens and accountability. By tackling these challenges UNDP influences the policy level, which affects the lives of ordinary citizens and particularly the most vulnerable groups.
